Providing Services for Women in Need
More than 500 women and 100 children and teens attended the 24th Annual Women's Resource Fair on March 9, 2013, and received medical, legal and social services from more than 100 organizations. Resources and services offered at the Fair included assistance in applying for public benefits such as food stamps and Social Security; medical and dental services for women and children; confidential legal assistance with family law, child support, restraining orders, public benefits programs, immigration, housing, and consumer protection questions; job skills, education and employment counseling; seminars on job application skills, self-defense, and personal care; mental health services, including spiritual counseling; shelter referrals; and each woman received a donated gift-bag of toiletries.
The San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, which hosts and organizes the annual Women's Resource Fair, would like to thank the many donors and volunteers who made the event possible through their generous support. Please view a list of providers and generous donors to the 2013 Women's Resource Fair.
