Family Law
assistance in family law cases
SDVLP provides assistance in family law cases under two different programs. The first program provides assistance in cases where there is a custody and visitation dispute under certain circumstances.
In order to be eligible for representation in custody and visitation disputes, you must meet the following criteria:
1) Are you low income?
2) Do you or the other parent want primary or legal custody of your child/children?
3) Does the other parent have an attorney?
If you can answer, "Yes" to these three questions, and your case is located in downtown San Diego, please call 1-866-244-0101 to apply for services.
The second program provides representation in divorce and other family law disputes to victims of domestic violence that live in the City of San Diego. If you meet both of these criteria, please contact us at (619) 235-5656 to apply for services.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROJECT
The Domestic Violence Prevention Project helps victims of domestic violence receive assistance in completing and filing restraining orders, related legal relief, and referrals to social support agencies and shelters. Services are provided at project clinics located throughout the County, and assistance is provided on a walk-in basis.
