SDVLP staff attorney Felicia Hernandez will be a panelist on Friday, April 21 at noon for a virtual program called Supporting Immigrant Kids in Care: Screening Tools and the SIJS Process. Presented by the San Diego County Bar Association’s Immigration Law and Juvenile Law sections, the program will discuss the intersection of immigration needs for families involved in the child welfare system and immigration relief as a necessity for meaningful permanency.

As a staff attorney with SDVLP’s Guardianship Program, Felicia regularly mentors volunteer attorneys in obtaining the “predicate orders” that make a child eligible for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, an important pathway to safety and stability in the United States.
