Record Relief for Survivors (Vacatur)

SDVLP represents survivors of human trafficking, intimate partner violence, and sexual violence who have been unjustly criminalized as a result of their victimization. This program uses a process called “vacatur” to help survivors erase nonviolent offenses from their criminal record, that directly resulted from their victimization.  Vacatur relief is life-changing; it gives survivors a fresh start by removing barriers to employment, housing, higher education, family reunification and more.

To be eligible for SDVLP’s vacatur services, the applicant must be:

  • A survivor of human trafficking, intimate partner violence, or sexual violence

  • Low-income

  • Living in San Diego County

  • With at least one arrest or conviction in Southern California
